ICON Explorer's Guild

Welcome weary traveller, to the pages of the ICON Explorer's Guild, where ye who have aided this noble cause may rest your tired feet, moisten your parched throat with clear spring water or fine ale or even rare elven wines and liquers if those are to your taste, and, of course, catch up on the latest news and gossip.

Adventure, good role-playing, and discoverie await members of this Guild! Whether it be a distant island, a ruined temple, or a lost city, ICON's most daring and clever laugh in the face of adversity to seek the unknown. From the high seas to the deepest dungeons, members of this Guild roam the Four Corners of Lorasia, and support each other's endeavours. Padraig Goathoof, former Prime Minister and founder of ICON is the current Director of Exploration. He and his teams of satyrs have been actively seeking an ICON homeland for some years now. In the process ruins have been explored, cities found, new continents discovered, and temples built. Many have collaborated, both members and non-members. Who else will dare to join the challenge? As a member of the Explorers Guild you will be well-prepared to handle any situation far away from any support. A good team consists of well-supplied vessels or land units, extensive character classes and spellcasters, and a lot of initiative, intuition, boldness, and daring. Only ICON's most elite units need join! Raise a glass to this intrepid Guild!

Goals of the Explorers Guild:

To coordinate an extensive mapping campaign through physical exploration, by land and sea.

To recommence the Seer Campaign, casting various Mind's Eye spells in strategic areas.

To offer camaraderie and communication to explorers far from ICON bases of operation.

To share stories of adventure, discoverie, and exploration.

To coordinate any necessary rescue and or re-supply missions for explorers.

To work with non-alliance explorers for mutual benefit.

To discover an appropriate homeland for ICON, as per the Charter, and to begin settlement procedures.

Who can join? Any ICON member can join, providing they have an army or fleet that is dedicated specifically to exploring, or a stationary army that is committed to the Seer Campaign. Advantages to joining Members of the Guild get up-to-the-minute information on mapping and exploration details, whereas other members must wait for the ICON Newsletter to come out. Explorers are also offered support through an excellent communication network, and should the need arise, can be rescued and/or re-supplied. Ideas on exploration techniques are shared, theories posited, and campaigns launched. Explorers are free to explore where they wish, although occasionally a coordinated effort may come into being to accomplish similar goals. Explorers will also have first dibs on settlement location when a homeland is chosen.

Membership:

You do not have to be a member of the ICON alliance to join this guild. We accept anyone, regardless of aliangment or alliance affiliation. The goals are simple: promote exploration and hopefully foster a sense of understanding among the different races and religions of Lorasia.

Seer Campaign

The Seer Campaign involves seers from many units casting Mind's Eye on either random or pre-planned sectors. Seers should cast the spell as often as possible (hint: high INT and MA are a good idea), and report the sector to the Director Cahil Beetseer. If advice is n eeded on sectors to examine, just ask!
