How
do I upload to my personal webspace? You will use an FTP program
to connect to the address - www.hypercon.net
Your username is the
beginning of your primary email address. Everything before the
"@" at sign. (Ex. bob@hypercon.net
- username would just be "bob") Your password would be
your email password. Once connected, put all of your website
files inside of the "public_html" directory and name
your first webpage "index.html".
You can view your webpages at http://www.hypercon.net/~yourusername
How
do I upload to my webspace using Internet Explorer browser?
Look at the following syntax and example.
Correct syntax- ftp://username:password@www.hypercon.net
Example - ftp://rick:r32u89@www.hypercon.net
Once connected, put all of your website files
inside of the "public_html" directory and name your
first webpage "index.html". You can view your webpages
at http://www.hypercon.net/~yourusername
How much webspace do I get?
You have
20MB (megabytes) of space. It should be enough for just most personal
pictures and information you wish to upload.
Do I use the "passive ftp" option to transfer files?
That depends on how you connect to the Internet. If multiple computers
in your home or office connect simultaneously over your single
internet account, you may need to enable the "passive ftp"
option in order to upload files. Usually you do not need to enable
passive ftp. If you are unsure, try it both ways. Once of the
two ways will not work for you.
Can I point my Domain Name at my personal webspace and use that as the
primary website address instead? Not currently. We do plan to
implement this option in the future for a nominal monthly fee.
