Does Hyperconnections offer news groups? Absolutely, our customers have access to over 60,000 news groups.

What server address do I use for the news server? Hyperconnections’ news server is news.hypercon.net

Do you filter your news service?  We do not actively filter the newsgroups, though upstream news providers may do so from time to time.

Do I need a username and password to access the News server? Yes. Use your email address as the username and your email password.

I have your setup disk, and it installed "Free Agent" as the news reader, but I cannot access the news groups? Please open the "Preferences" option in Free Agent, and where it has the ability to allow you to specify your username and password, please type in your email address as the username and your email password as the password. Unfortunately, the setup disk is unable to enter that information automatically.

What news reader do you recommend? If you have problems accessing news, we recommend that you try using "Forte Free Agent" first before spending too much time configuring another program. It is one of the best news reader applications available and very simple to use. You can find it on our downloads page.

How much can I download per month? Our Internet access accounts are not limited to a maximum amount of download per month however download speeds max out at Dual ISDN speeds of 128Kbps.
